The Aspiring Junior Program provides a platform for team members to build their interest in the sport of Table Tennis and excel in an inclusive team environment. It is modeled after some of the best table tennis programs in the world. It is truly a partnership between the players, their parents, and the great coaches at MDTTC.
SELECT TEAM
Members of the team are at the top of their level and show a serious commitment to reach National team level.
PROGRESS TEAM
Members of the Progress Team are showing strong growth and are fighting to get a spot in the Select team.
INTERMEDIATE TEAM
Members of the Intermediate Team are continuing to build their capabilities and are improving on their basic and intermediate skills.
NOVICE TEAM
Members of the Novice Team are continuing to develop their basic skills and are learning and building their interest in table tennis.
To apply to become part of the AJP Program, please contact Coach Wang at qwang@mdttc.com so that you can be part of the team tryouts. For those already part of the program, Coach Wang will be in contact with you to let you know which Team you will be a part of. We will need a confirmation of your participation in the Spring 2022 program no later than April 14, 2022. Payment will be due no later than April 14, 2022.
Those new to the MDTTC Aspiring Junior Program will need to try out with Head Coach Wang Qingliang no later than April 14, 2022 and sign the athlete and parent commitment letter to join the program. We only have a limited number of spots.
Members of the Select Team are chosen by the MDTTC Coaches committee. Members of the team are at the top of their level and show a serious commitment to reach National team level. Team members have practices 3 times per week and are committed to at least 2 additional private or group lessons per week. It is expected that members of this team are practicing at least 5 days per week and that they are traveling with the team to compete at the 2022 US Nationals

Team members have practices 2 times per week and are committed to at least 2 additional private or group lessons per week. It is expected that members of this team are practicing at least 4 days per week and will compete in the two club tournaments as well as the 2022 US Nationals
Members of the Intermediate Team are continuing to build their capabilities and are improving on their basic and intermediate skills. Team members have practices 2 times per week and are committed to at least 1 additional private or group lesson per week. It is expected that members of this team are practicing at least 3 days per week and will compete in the two club tournaments as well as the US Nationals
Members of the Novice Team are continuing to develop their basic skills and are learning and building their interest in table tennis. Team members have practices 1 time per week and are committed to at least 1 additional private or group lesson per week. It is expected that members of this team are practicing at least 2 days per week and based on coach’s approval can compete in the two club tournaments and possibly the US Nationals.
*USATT Membership fee is the player’s responsibility.
**Travel, room and board, USATT Membership, and entry fees are the player’s responsibility.
The entire schedule will be updated regularly if there are any changes to practice or event schedules.
