Junior group training

 Every child progresses at different rate.  It usually takes 3 -4 years of training for kids to go beyond      the Advanced Beginners Level, based on 3+ hours of weekly group and/or private instructions.

  Approx. USATT Ratings:

  Novice:  0 - 400  
  Beginners:  400 - 800 
  Advanced Beginners:  800 - 1300
  Intermediate:  1300 - 1700
  Average member of USATT:  1400 - 1700
  Average tournament players:  1200 - 2200

  Members of the USA Women's National Team:  2300 - 2650
  Members of the USA Men's National Team: 2500 - 2750

SUNDAY GROUP CLASSES for ages 6 - 15  (Novice - Adv. Beginners - low Intermediate)

If space permitted, students may register in mid-session prorated.

Learn to play table tennis the right way! Learn the correct strokes, footwork, strategies, and rules of this Olympic sport. Players will be grouped roughly by age and level. As each student progresses and continues with the class, more advanced and challenging skills will be taught. Sessions are roughly one hour instruction, 30 minutes playing games, and taught by instructors with many years of experience coaching kids, and keeping it fun.

This is a year-round program, and each student’s progress will be evaluated at the end of each session, during a 30 minute one-on-one lesson with an MDTTC coach. Please schedule this private lesson in advance with MDTTC Head Coach Jack Huang at MDTTC or by calling him at his cell: 240-506-9592.

TUESDAY LEVEL 2 GROUP CLASS for ages 8-15 Advanced Beginners)

This Level 2 Group Class is intended for kids 8-15 who have learned some basics of table tennis and want to improve their skills and match play. Skills to be focused in this class includes footwork, serving, forehand & backhand techniques for looping, pushing, flipping. and locking, plus match play tactics. The class is kept small for individualized instruction.  If you join mid-session, the class fee will be pro-rated.

  Time: Thursdays,  6:30 - 7:30 pm (Fall, Winter & Spring sessions only)

Participants should plan to take this class throughout the fall, winter, and spring sessions in order to obtain optimum benefits. These 60 minute classes are registered through Montgomery County Recreation Department. 

Come and learn to play table tennis or improve your table tennis skills from professional coaches at Maryland Table tennis Center. Table tennis is a challenging, exciting, demanding, stimulating, tactical sport that is played at the Olympic Games and in every country in the world.  Table tennis is not only a fun and safe way to exercise, but it also helps kids develop quickness, agility & balance and improve their hand-and-eye coordination, concentration, mental strength and much more!  

Players will be grouped by age & ability. Material fee of $10 due to the instructors in the first class.
